积极推动国际学术交流。1992年创议成立亚太化学反应工程工作委员会并任首任主席,组织地区学术活动。该委员会现已被公认为是平行于北美和欧洲在本领域中三个国际组织之一。1998年创建中法化学与环境工程联合实验室并任中方负责人。该实验室目前有双方12个实验室参加,运行良好。

当前研究方向: 反应器工程,非传统反应工程。
